See, here’s my situation with RED lipstick. I don’t have any, since every time I try one in cosmetic counter, or tried a friend’s, it never goes well. I always feel uncomfortable with how those red shade looks my skin tone. It makes me look older than my real age. Plus, I think that red lips are only suitable for fair skin. So.. yes, except on my wedding day, you’ll never see me in red lips.
That is, until last month’s FD editorial meeting, one that was calling for a red lipstick.
I didn’t bring any, so I tried one the lipsticks for the girls’ collection. Though I came empty handed – without red lipstick – but I came with the right outfit. I would need a distraction from the brightly red lips, to balance it out. I showed up in this subtly glitter bronze shawl. It was captivating enough to make you look glamorous in a modest way, and I also love this shawl for it really suit my skin. It gives the impression of a lighter skin, which is perfect with red lips.
So this is it, with the right shade of red (thank to those make-up savvy girls in FD 🙂 and my beloved bronze shawl, I think red lipstick will no longer so fearsome for me 🙂
