Raise Your Arms if You're Happy with Your Underarms!

I don’t know about you but I feel very self-conscious about my underarms. I don’t wear sleeveless often, but, on days where the weather becomes unbelievably hot, all I want to wear is cotton tops or dresses with very little sleeves. But when I do, I feel like I have to constantly be aware of how high I raise my arms for fear of exposing too much of my underarms 🙂

Apparently, I’m not alone. According to research done by Unilever Indonesia, which was presented to us during Beauty Is U Bali Trip last month, 96% of women Indonesian being surveyed are very self-conscious about their underarms. Two out of 3 of these women are aware that other people notice how their underarms look like. Furthermore, 9 out of 10 women who filled out the survey admitted that because they’re self conscious about what their underarms look like, it becomes one of their main considerations when choosing an outfit and many of them also admit having a loss of confidence when they feel like their underarms don’t look as good as they should.

What do these women think great underarms should look like? Hair-free, soft, smooth and even toned skin rank the highest as their answers. But the interesting thing is, even with so much concern around this area, most women who were surveyed admitted that they don’t do enough things to take care of their underarms. They often neglect the feeling of discomfort and even mild irritation that can occur after shaving. So I guess this is the point I’m trying to say through this article: if you’re not happy with your underarms, don’t just complain, do something about it! 😀
