5 Things About Singapore Men’s Fashion Week

A long awaited news for fashion enthusiasts has arrived! The first ever fashion event dedicated to leading men’s fashion, designers, brands, and talent in Asia Pacific will return from the 18th to 22nd April 2012. Following its inaugural, the third in the world (after Paris and Milan) Men’s Fashion Week will be staged at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Have you booked your tickets to Singapore yet? If you have, please expect to witness these captivating line-ups.

1. 5 Days of Fashion Shows From 19 Labels

The shows will represent some of the best menswear designers from across the globe and Asia, as stated by Frank Cintamani, Chairman of MFW Singapore,. There will be Spencer Hart, Diet Butcher Slim Skin,  Songzio, Beyond Closet, D.Gnak, General Idea, Resurrection, Vandal, Factotum, Jun Hashimoto, Pascal Donquino, Bodybound, Reckless Ericka, Alexis Mabille, Casely Hayford, Matthew Miller, Richard Chai, and MCM to name a few. More detailed schedule can be found in this  page.

2. Spencer Hart Show

The first spotlight of MFW Singapore 2012 is the British men’s fashion label, Spencer Hart by designer Nick Hart,  which is well-known for its savvy menswear that Robbie Williams, P Diddy, David Bowie, David Beckham, Orlando Bloom, and Dominic West wear on the red carpet. Being a lady who loves to gaze men in suit,  the show of Nick Hart’s finest craftsmanship instantly goes to the top of my personal list.

3. Diet Butcher Slim Skin Show

One of the most anticipated Asian designers in MFW Singapore 2012 is Hisashi Fukatami. As a creative genius behind the label Diet Butcher Slim Skin, he will show his prominent and cutting-edge creations in a superb way.  During my visits to Marina Bay Sands, I got the chance to meet and interview him exclusively. Please stay tuned for my upcoming article that will tell you more about his works!

4. MCM Show

What’s more interesting than an opening show of a fashion week is certainly its own closing show. Ladies, please be prepared to enjoy a special hour by watching the MCM (Mode Creation Munich)  showcases its wide range of Autumn/Winter 2012/13. Are you a fan of its leather goods, footwear, and apparel? Don’t miss the chance to witness a new era of MCM’s grand entry into South East Asia!

5. J-Pop and K-Pop Stars

Although I’m not a big fan of K-Pop and J-Pop stars, but I bet some of my friends will drool over those popular names who will perform and spice up this edition of MFW Singapore. Quoted from Frank Cintamani, “MFW Singapore 2012 will experience a fusion of sartorial elegance  and eclectic beats. You can call this, the Music and Men’s Fashion Week, or M2FW, edition.”

If you are interested to watch some of the shows, you can purchase the show tickets of MF2W, priced at S$40 each (doesn’t apply to Gala shows) in SISTIC. Please visit this page for more information on the labels, show times, and updates on MFW Singapore 2012.
