Are you feeling like you want to visit a new shopping spot? More and more international brands are coming to Indonesia, including Staccato and Fred Perry. Keep reading to know further about them. Who knows you”ll find items that suit your style from either Staccato or Fred Perry, perhaps both 😀

Staccato, shoe brand from Hong Kong has spread its wing to Indonesia. Brought by MAP, Staccato has opened its first store at the 2nd floor of Tunjungan Plaza IV, Surabaya. Following the first store, two more will be opened in Jakarta, which are located at Pondok Indah Mall 2 and Senayan City.

Staccato is managed under Belle International, a retail company that has been established since 1991 in Shenzen, China. Six brands under Belle International are included in Top 10 Best Selling Ladies Leather Footwear in China. Besides China, Staccato can be found in Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Australia, Italy and France.

What’s so special about Staccato anyway? Staccato claims itself as a fashion forward, easy to wear and easy to match shoe label. Its collection is ranging from casual, formal to party shoes. The use of genuine leather becomes one of the attributes that the brand posseses.

Fred Perry announced the launch of its first exclusive store in Jakarta at Plaza Indonesia. Following the successful modern classic design direction it used in Singapore Ion Store, Fred Perry brought the complete collection to Jakarta including the tipped polo shirts, shoes, bags and Japanese special edition collection. For those who seek apparel which style is a blend of sportswear and streetwear, then Fred Perry is the right label for you.

As I read the history, I found it interesting to know how Fred Perry evolved. The brand was born in the late 1940’s in UK when former Austrian footballer Tibby Wegner approached the three-times Wimbledon champion Fred Perry with an idea. Their initial venture was the very first sweatband, which was quickly adopted by tennis players across the courts of Britain. Then in 1952, the pair launched Fred Perry’s famous garment: a slim fit cotton pique shirt with Laurel Wreath embroidery.

Fred Perry and the tipped pique shirt in particular have been associated with a whole series of subcultures driven by musical affinities like mods, skinheads, suede heads, and soul boys. There was even a short-lived subculture known as the Perry Boys. Nowadays, Fred Perry has collaborated with some exciting artists and designers such as Raf Simons, Richard Nicoll, Emma Cook and Amy Winehouse
