As a daughter of Carine Roitfeld, former French Vogue editor, by birthright Julia Restoin Roitfeld can be categorized as one of the fashion royalty. But Julia refused to be only known as the daughter of Carine. That’s why, Julia has tried her best in recent years to make her own mark in this world. As a Parson graduate in photography and design management, combined with her talent, look and connection as a Roitfeld, she’s got all the juice to get it going. After nailing the Lancome campaign and apprenticing with Baron & Baron, an advertising and branding firm, Julia’s latest project is designing lingerie through a capsule collection with Kiki de Montparnasse.
At an unveiling party for her lingerie collection, Julia said “I want to be known for what I can do on my own.” The collection that is dominated with lace embellishment, lace panels and satin embodies an old vintage boudoir feels to it. Prices range from $200 for an underwear and $1,500 for a lace kimono. Quite a hefty price if I might add.
