To raise awareness on heart disease and how important healthy lifestyle is, “Go Red For Women!”, a campaign by Yayasan Jantung Indonesia was again held during Jakarta Fashion Week. It happened on the third day of JFW2012, Monday, November 14, 2011. This year YJI collaborated with Sebastian Gunawan, who also worked with Christina Panarese, to present a fashion show dedicated for the campaign. In line with the campaign, most of the guests of the shows wore red.

The show opened with beautiful melodies of the harp Maya Hasan. As Maya was playing her tune, Zivanna Letisha, Mesty Ariotedjo, and Susan Bachtiar as ambassador sand spokespeople of YJI walked through the runway wearing Sebastian’s. The event also covered a charity auction. Two charity auction items which are Christian Louboutin fuchsia-sequined peep toe heels and diamond rings were both sold for Rp30.000.000. All the money raised from this auction will be allocated to fund heart surgery of people who can’t afford it.

For the collection, Sebastian Gunawan showcased the collection from his ready to wear label Sebastian’s presenting a show titled Charming Blend. He explained that this collection was inspired by 1920 and 1960 fashion. Various kinds of dress with luxurious accents and ornaments from Swarovski were dominated with blue, orange, green, gray, and nude with golden shimmer. Almost the entire pieces of the collection use fine silk with clear cut lines. With this collection, the designer aimed to bring classy and charming vibe to represents the spirit of a strong woman.

The attires that were inspired by 1920s fashion feature loose cutting and are adorned with details such as tassel for the flapper style.

During 1960s many women had thin waist line since they had worn corsets in the previous era. So, the designs mostly accentuate the waist, said Sebastian Gunawan.
