In 1981, Giorgio Armani popped an idea for a retail line specifically to cater the younger market with clean, clean-cut, modern and ready-to-wear designs. Armani Exchange was born. It first started in Soho, New York, but the brand quickly gain fame worldwide.

This year marks Armani Exchange’s 20th Anniversary, and as a part of the celebration, Armani Exchange Indonesia held a special seasonal capsule collection as well as a Fall/Winter 2011 trunk show on October 7. Located at its newly opened boutique at Plaza Indonesia Level 2, the ready-to-wear collection was showcased to the beautiful guests, which consisted of loyal customers, celebrities and medias.

Although the collection was under Fall/Winter, it was not always about thick, layered look. In the women collection, this was shown by short, tight dresses, sequined tank tops, mini skirts and sleeveless jackets, making them seemed wearable even for our tropical climate. Nevertheless, the collection still gives touches of Fall/Winter with furs to accentuate several parka jackets and even bags.

For the men collection, there were lots of plaids, cardigans with line accents, parkas, denims, even rich, velvet suits.

In Indonesia, A|X was brought by the famed retailer, Club 21. The boutique itself offers one-stop-shopping for fans of casual yet sharply modern streetwear.

Aside from the trunk show, the fun-filled event itself was brim full with beautiful crowd and invited celebrities who considered to represents the A|X characters. There was DJ Winky — accompanied by wife Kenes — spinning the turntable, Carissa Putri in her hot, red cocktail dress, twins Marcel and Mischa Chandrawinata looking cool in their plaids, the ever-so-lovely Pevita Pearce, Laudya Sintya Bella and Chicco Jericho in their matching leather ensemble, the iconic Ari Wibowo, and many others.
