October 2011's Editor's Picks - Beauty

seo-img-article

Remember Editor’s Picks articles that we used to release end of year? We decided that the article is too much fun to be done only once or twice a year, so why not every month? This month, we ask the beautiful editors of Female Daily: if you can only buy ONE beauty product and ONE fashion item this month, what would they be, and why?

This is the first part of the article, on BEAUTY PRODUCTS.

Vanya

Lancome Le Crayon Kohl

“Ever since Hanzky introduced me to this eye liner, I was totally converted. This is my HG eyeliner. The one I have is already too short and barely useable, so I NEED to buy a new one pronto.”

Annisa

Smoky Palette by Make Up For Ever

“Thanks to an advertorial piece in a magazine I read recently, I can’t get this thing out of my head! ‘Smoky Hot’ is a limited collection for this fall/winter season, and one of the items is this SMOKY palette. For a palette junkie like me, I’m sure this palette is as hot as it looks!”

Affi

OPI Oh Roll Down the Window

“I’m not a nail polish collector, unlike some of the FD girls, but usually every season, there’s always one or two colors that really catch my attention. This season, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the military green nail polish trends on All Lacquered Up. I love green and these polishes are so lovely! There are a lot of gorgeous military greens out there, but if I could choose it has to be either OPI Uh Oh Roll Down the Window (awful name) and Zoya Dree. Because it’s already Fall in Europe, they’ll be perfect for my upcoming UK trip! So off I go to Lena’s lapak!”

The Balm ‘Cast Your Shadow’ Eyeshadow Palette

“This month I’m gonna get The Balm ‘Cast Your Shadow’ eyeshadow palette, which has been getting rave reviews. It’s supposed to be a holiday release but I’ve already seen it popping up online.

I already have The Balm ‘Balmbini’ palette and love, love it so much. I’m quickly becoming a great fan. And did you know The Balm cosmetics is vegan? (Yay! -Leija)”

Caring Colours Blemless Balm Cream Everlast

“Affi had reviewed this product when the it was just released. I liked using the Everlast variant because I sweat easily, so I thought I need BB cream that has nice staying power and Caring BB Cream Everlast stayed well on my face all day long without looking heavy.

Recently, when I went to Martha Tilaar Beautifying Indonesia Conference 2011, I saw that this BB cream has a new packaging. Then Pak Kilala Tilaar said that Caring Colours BB Cream has been reformulated to be less oily and completed with SPF 25, so I was tempted to give it a try.  What he said was true, the new formulated Caring Colours BB Cream looks less shiny on my face and it still feels moist. Caring Colours BB Cream is sold in all Martha Tillar Shops, Caring Colours outlets and http://online.marthatilaarshop.com

Hanzky

Bare Escentuals Foundation

“I used to wear this back in the days, but the product is not easily accessible here so I ventured out to other brands and other types of foundation. But recently I looked at the pictures from those days and realized my skin looked so much healthier. It could be because of the weather and the younger age too, though, but it doesn’t hurt to try again :p”

Sari Ayu 25 Years Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette

“As much as natural and earthy-toned makeup are more versatile and wearable, I’m actually not into those hues. On the contrary, colorful, loud, bold and fun colors really excites me. So after having the famous Urban Decay Naked Palette, my next target was their more colorful ones. Their Deluxe Shadow Box was my primary target, but since I was too impatient to search and order one, I settled with Sari Ayu 25 Years Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette. And just like the raves, I’ve proven that the colors are gorgeous,  fun, and pigmented enough. I could imagine gazillion looks that can be created with this baby. Plus points, it’s a local product (thus, it’s also incredibly pocket-friendly) and it’s against animal testing. After purchasing this, I feel like I don’t need to buy any other beauty product this month… but we’ll see!”

Issey Miyake Soleil de Neroli

For years, I’ve always played safe with my fragrances, sticking with one fragrance with vanilla note all the time. Just until recently, I really ventured out into trying different kinds of fragrances. I came across the sample of Annick Goutal Neroli fragrance one time and I grew to love it so much because of its bitter end. That’s when I decided that I have to try everything with neroli in their ingredient. So when the information came to my desk that Issey Miyake Soleil de Neroli is coming to town, I’m excited because I would be able to sniff it myself. The news have it that it’s going to be available this month.

It’s described as a fragrance with sunny floral bouquet with neroli and tiare blossoms in the top notes. Jasmine and hyacinth on the heart notes. Lastly, musky base as the base notes. It’s retail for Rp 850,000 for 100ml.
