2011 Miss Universe Crown Taken Home By Miss Angola

Which contestant you thought would win this year’s Miss Universe? If you kept track with all the judgment process of 2011 Miss Universe and you chose Miss Angola as your favorite, then you’re right!

Leila Luiliana da Costa Viera Lopes, simply called Leila Lopes, successfully wowed the judges and won as 2011 Miss Universe. Lopes became the first Miss Angola who won the pageant throughout Miss Universe’s 60 years history, beating the other 88 contestants. When asked if there’s any physical trait that she wanted to change in the final round, this 25 year old lady from Angola answered “Thank God I’m very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing. I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.”

Leila Lopes is being crowned by last year’s Miss Universe, Ximena Navarrete from Mexico.

Meanwhile, Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko won the first runner up, Miss Brazil Priscilia Machado was the second runner up and Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup made it as third runner up.
