The Wedding That Gets Better

seo-img-article

You surely cannot forget Kate Moss’ wedding already. It was all simply too magical. The ceremony, with the countryside setting and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s references, seemed like a fairy garden party and a 1920’s soiree combined.

Kate wanted her wedding to be kind of ‘dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus. That’s why The Great Gatsby—F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel about the American’s roaring 20s—was her significant inspiration.

Last month, I was pained to only be given glimpses of the unofficial photos of the ceremony. However, Vogue recently flaunted official pictures of the wedding and… it was better than I thought it would be.

On Vogue’s paramount September issue, Kate does not only graces the cover, but also appears in dozens of never-seen-before wedding photos inside, shot by long-time pal Mario Testino.

It was also, indeed, a very fashionable wedding. Remember the John Galliano dress? Kate wanted a classic chiffon dress, and, consistent with the main inspiration, Galliano took cues from Jazz Age photographs of the author’s wife, Zelda Fitzgerald. The beautiful understated dress is spangled with tiny golden paillettes, completed with a 1920’s headpiece. The bride’s look was perfected by sixteen bridesmaids and flower girls, including Kate’s daughter Lila Grace, dressed in Bonpoint dresses.

However, the official pictures also show Kate in other dresses aside from the ceremonial gown, including the ones from Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, and the especially breathtaking Rodarte red cape and lace dress. And check out Mr. Groom’s velvet suits from Lanvin and Tom Ford. They cannot scream rock-n-roll any louder than that.

Additionally, the official photos show the dinner party with gorgeous guests such as Carine Roitfeld, Christian Louboutin, Mark Ronson, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell. Oddly, the ladies appear to be wearing either black or white—the two exact colors you’re not supposed to wear to a traditional wedding. Perhaps one of Kate’s quirky requests?

It’s certainly not just a gorgeous wedding, but an inspirational fashion event of this year’s summer as well. May the couple’s marriage be just as wonderful.
