Life in Pastel Colour

seo-img-article

The thing about fasting month, everything seems to go on a slow(er) mode. Or at least that’s what I’m expecting it to be. I like everything to be simple, for instance I pick simpler clothes, subtle makeup look and a softer fragrance. Just because, I’m lacking in sleep so I like to keep everything simple. So here are four products that I pick to complete my Ramadhan theme:

1. Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Florale

In times where heavy and oriental perfume were leading the market back in 1992, Issey Miyake took the world by surprise by creating Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey where he used water as the central component of the perfume making the end result fresh and feels like a breath of fresh air. This year, Issey Miyake created his second perfume L’Eau D’Issey Florale. My new favourite especially under such heat and during fasting month I prefer a softer perfume so it wouldn’t feel too intoxicating. It has a combination of gourmand and floral notes. Soft breath of rose blooming at the top note with a hint of yellow ginger lily. There’s a hint of mandarin orange in the middle but it’s very subtle that I hardly recognize it but it’s the soft white woods at the end that completed the perfume perfectly for me. I’m not much of a fan of perfumes with rose note but this one rubs me in a right way.

2. Miso Outerwear

Given that during the month of Ramadhan you’re going to attend so many buka puasa event whether it’s for social cause or office related event, you will need something appropriate for the event. I would really on my loose dresses or maxi dresses and throw an outerwear that gives a little cover up. Normally I would have chosen black, because it’s the safest one. But somehow black jacket always looks too businesslike. So when I see this pastel yellow Marianne Jacket from Miso (Rp 625,000), I thought this would be the perfect one. Especially because it’s cinched at the waist so it will create a nice silhouette when combined with my dresses.

3. De Cada Dia Shawl

One other must have item for Ramadhan is of course some cover up like scarf for your head. It’s like an umbrella for me, you will never know when it would rain so it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’ve grown tired of my pashmina and it’s too heavy and wide to be used as a head scarf. So when I came across the Double Snoods with Juvenile Mosaic (Rp 186,000) from De Cada Dia, I was thrilled. Because it’s very light, I can squeeze it into my bag and I can use it as a head scarf. After Ramadhan, I can just use it as a shrug or shawl. Perfect investment.

4. Rouge Artist Natural

To finish off my look, lately I always rely on Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural lipstick. On normal day, I would have prefered the Intense version since it’s highly pigmented and gives a really intense colour pay off in just one swipe. But I wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression. So I opt for the natural version instead. With candelilla plant waxes and beeswax your dry lips from fasting during the day will stay moist and looking healthy. It comes in 50 colours and three finishes; satiny, iridescent and diamond. There must be one that will satisfy your palate. The colour finish is transparent but also pigmented. Also perfect for those who don’t like an intense lipstick.
