My Random Wish List

You probably won’t believe me, but when I tried to compose a list of what I want for my birthday, which is today, I struggled for a bit.

I added one item on the list then I had to think for a long time about what else I should put on it. You probably think “What a disgrace! Working for Fashionese Daily yet she can’t even make a wish list?” 😀 but at this very moment, I feel so content that I can’t think of anything, any material thing especially, that I absolutely must have. I just feel so blessed to have a wonderful husband who’s been nothing but kind and supportive to me, a healthy and happy child who constantly becomes the source of my smile, great friends, family and a wonderful job I truly enjoy doing. What more could I ask for?

But Deszell wrote a post on her birthday and Hanzky also wrote her own birthday wish list so I wanted to continue with the tradition 😀 And after a few hours contemplating, I managed to finish the list and came up with pretty good things on it too. Apologize in advance if not all of them are fashion or beauty-related, I’m quite random that way 😀

1. Johnny Ramli Gold Geronimo necklace (AUD$170)

I’ve fallen in love with Johnny Ramli’s jewelries since I first saw them in this article. I made a mental note to get them if I visit Bali, but as it turned out, they are now available in The Goods Dept! The necklaces are dainty and delicate but with impressive detailing and craftsmanship. It’s costs a little more than I usually spend on necklaces but I think it’s something I’m going to wear everyday for a long long time.

2. Gorilla Perfume at Lush – Imogen Rose ($64.95)

No list of mine is complete with a perfume. There are many fragrances I want and some of them came from Lush perfume line called Gorilla. There several interesting ones from the line, some with very curious names (Tuca Tuca, Breath of God, The Smell of Freedom) but as a rose scent enthusiast, I was immediately drawn to Imogen Rose. It was created by Lush’s co-founder and perfumer, Simon, in honor of his young daughter who has the same name. The notes are Rose, bergamot, vetivert, ambrette seed, tonka and orris. Too bad the brand is no longer available in Indonesia.

3. Kitchen Aid Ultra Power in Empire Red (around $299)

It’s no surprise, I LOVE baking. I find it therapeutic to be elbow deep in flour, eggs and butter, trying to make something that will fill my small house with sweet and mouthwatering smell. I think everyone who loves baking dreams of having this state of the art Kitchen Aid standing mixer in their kitchen and I’m no exception! The cool thing is, after I wrote this, I found that my husband got me a standing mixer as a birthday present. It’s not Kitchen Aid but it’s much more meaningful coming from someone who really knows what I want and need 🙂

4. House of Rufus Box Set – Rufus Wainwright (around $259)

Rufus Wainwright is a musician I’m obsessed with and this is the ultimate collection for his fan. This beautifully packaged 19 disc box set span’s Rufus’ entire career and represents the most complete collection of Rufus Wainwright recordings to date. House Of Rufus will be housed in a beautiful red velvet encased, 90-page hardback book containing rare and unseen photos, Rufus’ early hand-drawn tour posters, handwritten lyrics, four art prints and other memorabilia. It will be available for pre-order starting July 18 but it also comes in a whopping price of $259. Pretty steep for a collections of CDs right?

5. A proper holiday

This is probably the one thing in my list that I really need. It’s been too long since I took a proper holiday, even my friends in the office kept bugging me to take one. There are many reasons why I couldn’t manage more than just a short weekend break. I sometimes can’t find the time that’s both right for me and my husband or the budget that we’ve allocated for a getaway ended up going in other places that seemed more urgent. If I could take one right now, it would probably be a beach holiday where I could lie on a sun lounger reading a book and sipping refreshing drinks, while my little girl is playing with the sand beside me. Bali is the obvious choice but I would also love to go to Bangka Belitung. Anyone been there?
