Kate Middleton and her classic yet trendy style makes her on top of my list for my style inspiration. Although she’s married to the royal family now, but she’s still, to some degrees, someone that you can relate to in terms of style. In her recent trip with Prince William to Canada, she was put on the spotlight as the media dissected her look item by item.
Now why did I say I can still relate to her wardrobe choices? For one, she’s not ashamed to be photographed using the same dress that she has been seen in public before. She sported the Issa bird-print dress that reportedly has been worn during the night before her wedding. Because that’s what real women do, they don’t throw away the dress that they have worn only once. Instead of opting for some high end shoe designer, she’s often spotted with L.K Bennett shoes, which more or less cost £200. And she wears dresses that are to die for!
So in an attempt to recreate the ‘Kate Middleton Classic Chic Look’ we’re going to try to find a steal version of her looks.
The dress worn by Kate Middleton in the picture above was made by a London based designer Erdem Moralioglu but he’s also Canadian born which is fitting to be used during the arrival of her visit to Canada. His dress can easily cost close to £1,500 a piece, but this particular dress is from the designer’s resort 2012 collection which is only going to be available early next year. Because the dress itself is already very “busy”, she accessorized it with a simple nude clutch and heels. Try the look with the lace dress from Velvet Apple that only costs Rp 195,000.
A conventional bag that is chic at the same time. Just what I imagine something Kate Middleton will wear. Although the real deal; Mulberry Polly cost £850 but you can find a similar bag at Urban Outfitters for $48. Do I hear someone say “shipping problem?” Nothing is impossible in FD! Head down to Market Plaza, because there’s bound to be some sellers that are opening custom purchase straight from Urban Outfitters, currently Youlovemimo is doing that. Or if you want to have something that is not too similar but inspired by the Mulberry Polly style, my pick falls to the Minimal top handle in light beige that is being marked down to Rp 319,920!
Kate Middleton is often spotted in a pair of LK Bennett and this trip was no exception. Although she wore shoes from many designers, but it was the LK Bennett pairs that I really make a connection with. On the picture above where she wore the Erdem lace dress, she was wearing a nude pair of Andie shoes which has been discounted to £150. For the picture above, Kate Middleton wore a pair of sling back wedges, and I though she should have picked this pair of round toe wedge instead! The Maddox shoes cost £165.
