Now that the kids are on a school break, some of us can finally go on that long overdue holiday!

Deszell wrote about his & her stylish holiday essentials this morning, now why don’t we think about what to wear during the vacation? As you know, being in a holiday doesn’t mean that we should look sloppy, even though we should aim to dress as comfortably as possible, especially if you’re going to warm climate places. But I have to admit, it is easier said than done, especially if, like me, you are not a petite woman who can throw a teenie tiny summer dress and walk out the door. It requires a bit of planning and to give you some inspirations on what to pack to your trip, here are some of my favorite fabulous curvy styles.

Prints Charming

People who say prints make full-figured women look bigger just don’t know how to wear them. The trick is, find printed tops or dresses in lighter materials so they won’t make you look “heavy”. And of course, lighter materials work for warm weather too! Pair a printed top with cropped cargo pants with wedges or go boho chic with maxi skirt and lots of chunky jewelries.

Don’t be Afraid of Colors!

Usually people who say no to prints are also the ones who try tell you to avoid bright colors. Nonsense! A pop of colors in your outfit always make you look interesting and fun. Isn’t that what you want to look like during your vacation? My favorite plus-size blogger Jay Miranda from Fatshionable showed us in this picture that pairing hot pink pants with striped tops and white flowy shirt look absolutely gorgeous. It’s fun but effortlessly stylish at the same time. Love it!

Maxi It Out

If you’ve got the height, you should definitely bring one maxi dress with you, preferably the one with interesting prints, like the one shown here from Fashion to Figure. You can always dress it up or down. Wear it with some strappy flats during the day, and pull out your killer heels and throw a cape or bolero for a night out.

Dreamy Day Dresses

..or if maxi isn’t your thing, try packing a flowy, feminine day dress. I have a thing with white, romantic dresses in white so I went crazy when I saw this dress worn by Gabi from youngfatandfabulous.com It’s sooo pretty! Just add a pair of nude colored shoes and I think you’ll be looking chic strolling around the streets of your holiday destination.

Back with Basics

Some days, we can’t be bothered with dresses or layers and you know what can’t go wrong in days like those? Yep, white tee and jeans! I think there’s something so stylish about the combination of white top, denim shorts, leather bags and ethnic accessories like the one in picture below. If you can find that cute beach hat too, I think you’ll look even more fantastic.

Or, if you’re not comfortable in a pair of shorts, or you’re going to a place with cooler climate, simply wear it with a pair of boyfriend jeans and blazer in neutral hues. Also, to take cues from Sakina from Saks in The City, adding a pair of fabulous shoes in vibrant hues will definitely give some punch into your look!

Of course, any kind of look you end up choosing for your holiday won’t be complete with one most important thing: attitude. Be confident, be proud of your curves and smile a lot. I think that’s what makes a girl look sexy and stylish.

Have fun and don’t forget to take lots of pictures! 🙂
