Doing the Double Cleansing Routine

seo-img-article

Many people would ask me when I review a cleanser product whether I use facial wash afterward? I thought it’s about time that I write this post, especially after I show you how to make a foam ball as big as tennis ball yesterday. Going back right into the very basic of skincare routine.

I have always used facial wash even after I used makeup remover product for as long as I remember. Only recently that I found out that there’s a term for it in Japanese Skincare Regime, which is Double Cleansing. The idea behind double cleansing is, in order to cleanse your face, there are two steps involved:

1. Cleansing product

This product is used during the night, because normally during the day you will use sunblock and makeup and you will need to take away this product before you continue with your other skincare. You need to make sure that all the products that you use will be lifted and there’s no residue left in your skin surface.

Product-wise it comes in variety of formula. From cleansing oil, cleansing milk, cleansing cream to toner. Follow the instruction of the product to be able to cleanse your face thoroughly. Remember, that each product is different so that you need to read the fine print carefully.

2. Facial Wash

No matter what your cleansing product told you, that it’s a two-in-one or even three-in-one, I will still stress the importance of washing your face with facial foam before you move on to the next step in your skincare routine. Many dermatologist that I come across in various events always stress out the importance of washing your face twice a day; day and night.

It will take away the dirt in your face and lift dead skin cells that are on the surface of your skin so it wouldn’t cause any build-up. Facial wash will also help to cleanse your pores so that they will not be clogged with dirt.

I have just found out that it’s better to make a foam first in your hands out of your product before applying it to the face. Apply the facial foam to dry face, because if your face is wet your foam will slide right off your face instantly and how is it going to do the cleansing job, right? I found that by doing it this way, no matter what product I use, I see that the result is a significantly more clean face that if I do it any other way.

Facial wash product now comes in a tube or foaming tube that will pump foam right away.

Make sure that you use the right facial wash according to your skin type. Normally, facial wash shouldn’t leave your face with a tight and dry feeling if it matches perfectly with your skin’s condition.

Now that you know how to cleanse your face the right way, don’t forget to practice it everyday. In longer term, this will benefit your skin and will cause your skin to stay young for longer time.
