Splurge & Steal: Tinted Moisturizer

seo-img-article

If you read my previous article about Foundation for Beginner, I wrote there that if you’re looking for something to use for day-to-day and just enough to even out your skin tone then you should opt for Tinted Moisturizer. This product is enough to balance out your complexion, making it look healthier and just enough to make your face look made up. It’s the perfect product for those that are looking for sheer coverage and have minor imperfection on the face.

My favourite Tinted Moisturizer is currently MAC Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 and it works perfect for my daily base. Both Affi and I feel that the consistency is neither too thin nor creamy. I have a dry skin and it doesn’t crack mid day nor make my face looks blotchy even though the coverage is very sheer. Affi who has oily skin also swears by this product, she said the oil control of this product is not bad after all. It feels really light so even on a very hot day you don’t feel like something is covering your face and makes it feels sticky. It also feels very moisturizing so your face will look soft and supple and there are seven shades to choose from. For my NW35 skin, I used Medium Dark and Affi used Medium for her NC30 skin. Unfortunately this product is not available here, but of course you can always go to Market Plaza to find it. It retails for $29.50 in the U.S.

For those looking for a steal and something that is available here, Wardah Luminous Liquid Foundation could be the answer. Not exactly marketed as a tinted moisturizer but I feel that the finish and texture are what we normally find in tinted moisturizers. I find that the consistency of this foundation is too thin and liquid-y and the coverage is way too sheer. But it works well to replace my MAC Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15 that’s almost finished. The texture compared to MAC’s one is more watery, but it gives the same luminous finish with the same sheer coverage like MAC. It feels fresh and moisturizing as well and it blends right through your skin. The packaging said that it has some UV filter in it but it doesn’t exactly say how much. My guess is it can have the same amount as the MAC’s one.

The good thing for me is that they have a shade for my medium deep tone, I go with the shade Beige but they also have Natural White, Light Beige and Natural. The price is also very wallet-friendly, it only cost me Rp 27,000 and I got mine from Carrefour. The only drawback from this product is it has a smell that somehow chemical-ish.
