Sleeve Glossary
Cap – very short sleeves that usually covers only a little part of arms.

Bishop – usually long sleeves, fuller on the bottom than on the top, hits on the wrists or below elbows and gathered into a cuff.

Kimono – wide and loose sleeve can range from elbow length to very long.

Flutter – A sleeve with soft ruffles that add femininity.

Puff sleeve – Full sleeve of varying lengths, created by generous gathering around the armhole.

Dolman (aka Batwing) – Very wide sleeve at the armhole and tapers tight at the wrist.

Lantern – Full, gathered sleeve attached to a drop-shouldered garment.
Bell – Full sleeve that is gathered at the shoulder and open at the cuff.
