After listing several celebrities to be picked as the ambassador for Chanel handbag, now the time for “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively has come. Blake is chosen to present Chanel’s new Mademoiselle handbag line. Before Blake, other women that have been tapped as Chanel handbag ambassador includes Lily Allen for Chanel Cocoon.
In case you’re wondering how Blake and Lagerfeld first met, it was Anna Wintour who introduced Blake to Lagerfeld last July during couture week in Paris. They dined together the night before Chanel’s high-fashion show at the Grand Palais. Mademoiselle campaign was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself. The ads will be published in April magazines.
“A dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around. Though I am the face of it [Chanel handbag], I will carry it like every girl. I will always feel it’s more than just a purse. It’s a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful ‘CC’,” Blake said as describing how happy she was to be Chanel ambassador.
According to WWD.com, Lagerfeld said “She’s a kind of American dream girl. I think she will become a great actress”. Commenting on the shoot, Lagerfeld said that it was an easy job because everyone fell in love with Blake.
