JFW 10/11 Day 5: APPMI Designers Parade Part 2

There were too many beautiful pieces presented by APPMI designers. They’re divided in two fashion shows on the fifth day of Jakarta Fashion Week. I think it’s better to cover each fashion show separately so I can cover them further. In this second APPMI fashion show, there were 6 designers showing off their individual characteristics.

Let’s have a look a them!

The show was opened byHengky Kawilarang with his “Wild Romance”. The collection reflected the beauty of Kalimantan textiles. Tulles, and ruffles, combined with embellished stones resulting in outstanding yet romantic designs.

Susan Zhuang presented “Vintage Treasures” wide-cut skirts and long dresses with classic 50-60s silhouettes.

Agnes Budhisurya collection stunned the audience in jewel-tone colors, like red, purple, and green.  It also had some details like Balinese black and white plaids and Barong motif in see-through fabric.

Geraldus Sugeng combined Eastern and Western culture in his collection titled “The Orient Express” . It involved night gowns made of tenun with golden sparkles were combined with Kawung motive and Dayak’s motive on drapery chiffons, gave a traditional yet conservative touch in those modern look.

“Escape for Love” by Gregorius Vici was expressed through his extraordinary pieces. The colors of of brown, green, blue, as well as printed tenun made the collection lovable. Not to forget, accessories worn on the face by some of his models also grabbed the audience attention.

Misan with his “Ancient Luxury” used batik as the main elements. Then it was added with classic details on his dresses and color combination of purple, brown and turquoise.
