Grazia, a magazine hailed from Italy which was launched during last year’s Jakarta Fashion Week, is dedicated to bringing the latest stories on celebrities. So it’s no surprise that this year, they presented a Celebrity-themed fashion show entitled Grazia Glitz & Glam Celebrity Meets Fashion.

We see more and more celebrities who dab their feet into fashion, and yesterday we saw a glimpse of what will come in the future from these 5 stars. They came from different background; model (Indah Kalalo), ex MTV VJ (Daniel Mananta and Marissa Nasution), socialite (Ina Thomas) and..well…Ivan Gunawan 😀 But all of them have one thing in common, besides frequently appearing on Infotainment, they seemed eager to show their own personality and vision through their collections.

Marissa Nasution with her Doll House label showed a touch of Hollywood starlet with the use of animal prints, chain application and neon colors, which showed up not only in clothes but the gorgeous boots the models were wearing.

Daniel Mananta, who has actually been developing his own label “Damn I Love Indonesia” for quite some time now, showcased his latest collection both for women and men. He added brightly colored material to the basic white and grey to represent the richness of Indonesian archipelago. In one of the dresses worn by the infamous Sheila Marcia, Daniel actually had Sumpah Pemuda pledge printed on it. He really does love Indonesia.

Ina Thomas, who no longer teams up with Vera Abby, presented a collection which featured what she did best: long flowy dresses, chunky earrings and stacked bangles. It’s nothing we haven’t seen before but if you are in the look out for goddess-like dresses, you need to check out Ina Thomas collection.

Va Va Voom was the expression I used to see Flirt by Indah Kalalo and Fabiola. The models showed up with a sexy vixen attitude wearing body-hugging mini and maxi dresses in feathers, fringe with metallic finishes. This collection is not for shy girls as it practically screams “Look at me!”

To close the show, Ivan Gunawan presented his collection which tried to capture the grandeur of the queens from a European kingdom. They were definitely plenty to look at; sequins, lace, stripes, big ruffles, colors and head piece on every model. Ivan certainly did not hesitate in putting extra touches of everything in his design. But like I said, each of these designers clearly put forth their own personality in their creation, which is what you should keep in mind when seeing Ivan Gunawan’s collection.
