An invitation came to my desk one day. It was from Make Up For Ever and they invited me to witness the launch of their newest lipstick range. Lipstick? I don’t care what I’m doing on that day, I am so there!
So off I went to the event and here I am really excited to tell you all about this new product.
Make Up For Ever introduced their latest lipstick range, Rouge Artist Intense. A highly pigmented, long-lasting lipstick that delivers rich color in one stroke. Formulated with 50% more pigment than the traditional lipstick, Rouge Artist Intense gives an immediate true-to-color result. A blend of three natural waxes, the creamy texture glides on effortlessly for a long-lasting hold. The extensive color and texture range provides unlimited creativity.
These lipsticks come in three finishes:
Matte, which is self explanatory
Satin, different than MAC satin, this one is full coverage with creme finish
Pearly, also full coverage but with some pearl particles
The most exciting part is probably the fact that there are 50 shades to choose from. There really is something for everyone, ranging from nude, beige, brown, coral, pink, red, burgundy, vampy. There’s even a black shade for the goth girls among us! I actually had to take a deep breath before swatching some of the shades because my eyes just couldn’t focus on one color But because it’s impossible to talk about all of them, I’ll just tell you about the ones the girls and I ended up getting and trying.
My choice of shade is the No. 37 (Satin Bright Pink), a bright, neon coral pink. This comes in matte texture and it drags a little when applied but I get instant color payoff. It’s incredible how this lipstick is very true to its color. What you see on the tube is what you get and you get the color after just one swipe. Despite the “dragging”, Rouge Artist Intense feels comfortable on the lips and quite long-wearing. It didn’t wear off after 4-5 hours (with drinking and eating) and that’s very important considering we’re gonna do a lot of those during Idul Fitri, right? The shade itself is very cute and bright. For someone who owns quite a few hot pink and bright coral lipsticks, No. 37 is unique and I don’t have anything that’s similar to this shade.
I also got No. 40 (Satin Bright Orange) which is ‘in your face’ orange and definitely not for the faint-hearted. The shade is very similar to my MAC Mattene Orange Dare (which is a limited edition) but MUFE No. 40 is slightly brighter. Maybe it’s more similar to Morange but since I don’t have it at home, I can’t make a comparison. It is a very juicy and summery shade and looks good both on fair skinned and dark-skinned girl, as you can see on Amal‘s lips in the picture below.
Vanya is wearing No. 39 (Satin Orange Coral). The shade is very lovely soft pinkish coral. However, it tends to wash out some skin tones (like mine for example), so if you’re thinking of buying this color, I suggest you try it on first. But if you can rock it, it will be a perfect lipstick to wear with your sexy, smokey eyes.
For girls who can’t break away from their nude lippies, try No. 26 (Satin Brown Beige) like the one Hanzky is sporting in the picture. Even though it’s a shade you can wear everyday, it’s a little deeper that I think will add a hint of sexiness to your look. It will look gorgeous when paired with some amber eyeshadow and a little bit of bronzer on your cheeks.
So there you have it. Our review of what I predict will be one of the hottest lip product launched this year. If you want to get your hands on some of these fabulous products, you will have to wait just a little bit more as they will hit the counter on 17th of September. But I assure you, it will be worth the wait!
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense will be sold in MUFE counter nationwide and retail for Rp. 235.000
