Not Your Typical Spring/Summer Looks
Been in a makeup rut lately? Dying to get your newly-cleaned brushes out and play with your vast makeup collection but don’t know which makeup looks to create? Here, we give you 4 sizzlin’ hot looks courtesy of MAC Spring/Summer ’10 trend. This isn’t your typical Spring or Summer look as it’s slightly more daring and bold. But if you can recreate and pull it off, I think it’s going to look amazing any time of the year!
Sonia Rykiel
MAC tips:
- Use Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Orpheus, drawn along top lash line and blended out with 239 brush
- One coat of black mascara swept onto curled lashes
- Use tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone and set with powder only on the centre of the face to minimize shine
- Use cream blush buffed high on the cheeks in a round C shape. It really lifts the look.
- Apply bright orange or coral lipstick and clear lipglass brushed over lips with 231 brush for a “patent lip”
Malandrino
MAC tips
- Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline dotted across, then smudged across lash line and onto lid with fingertips
- Black mascara brushed through eyelashes and smudged through upper and lower lash lines and onto lids for a messy look then reapplied and coated through eyelashes to finish
- Use Studio Sculpt Foundation and Studio Fix Moisturizer layered on top of foundation to sheer-out skin.
- Dust powder in Medium, Dark or Deep Dark onto apples of cheeks and all over face to set and slightly color
- Rub nude lip liner onto lips with fingertips and dust neutral eyeshadow on top to create a matte finish
Mark Fast
MAC tips:
- Use Shadestick in Cakeshop and Shadestick in Sharkskin wrapped around the inner corners of the eyes
- Foundation mixed with liquid highlighter/glow enhancer for a dewy look
- Use brown cream blush to contour the cheekbones
- Apply concealer and pat onto lips to diminish their natural color
Baby Phat
MAC tips:
- Fluidline eye liner in Waveline to the eyelid in an elongated winged shape and under the eye as a base
- Apply eyeshadow in Deep Truth and Pearlglide Eyeliner in Fly-By-Blu layered over to add color and sparkle
- Add Fluidline in Blacktrack to darken the crease
- Crush metal pigment in Stacked 1! brush into the inner corners of the eyes
- Crush metal pigment in Stacked 2! to highlight the brow bone
- Use Dazzlelash in Black Dazzle and 44 lash to exaggerate the eyes
- Apply foundation and cream blush to contour and tan
- Use highlighter on high planes of face
- Apply Lusterglass in Love Nectar
