The Holy Grail of Concealers

seo-img-article

My long search for concealers has finally come to an end with the discovery of Laura Mercier’s concealers: Secret Camouflage and Secret Concealer, which I used for face and eyes respectively. Laura Mercier products are stressing on the importance of creating a fresh canvas with a flawless finish that you must achieved first and foremost before going forward with everything else in the make up routine. Therefore it’s not a surprise how their concealing products are such a wonder.

LM SCLaura Mercier Secret Camouflage, $28 for 7.7 g, helps to camouflage dark circles, minor imperfections on face such as redness, broken capillaries and acne scars, and as well as discolorations. Secret Camouflage comes in a unique two-shade system, beige and pink based, one to match the skins depth of color and the other to match skins of undertone. Custom blend the two shades to create your own perfect shade. Use this concealer sparingly on area where it needed correction and more coverage since it has high level of pigmentation therefore requires very little product to achieve complete flawless coverage. Use blender brush to help blend the concealer nicely onto your skin. If you find your under eye area very dark than average, you can use the pink based concealer or custom shade it your own and mix it with your favourite eye cream for more creamier consistency. This concealer is very thick and dry therefore I don’t really recommend to use it on your under eye. Available in 6 different shades.

LM Secret ConcealerFor the under-eye area Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, $22 for 2,2g, which come in peach/pink-ish undertone which helps neutralizing my dark under-eye. This concealer is really rich in moisture and designed specifically for the under-eye area to conceal discolorations and dark circles. The texture is so creamy and thin yet able to brighten your entire look due to its ability to neutralize very dark under eye. Because of its creamy texture, the concealer glides on your skin easily.  It’s not going to drag the skin under your eyes. My only complain is that this concealer is only available in 3 shades, and even the darkest shade is still a little bit too light for me. The darkest shade should fit for those with MAC NC 35 or NW30. I apply this concealer using my pinky finger because it doesn’t put pressure on skin under my eyes, and the natural body heat will helps to melt the concealer and blend it onto the under-eye area.

If you’re still unsure about these two products, you can try Laura Mercier Undercover Pot at $34, which hold one shade of Secret Camouflage and Secret Concealer on the top compartment side by side and Transluscent Loose Setting Powder on the lower compartment which can be used to set your make up.
