Over the next couple of weeks I will be writing reviews on several eye cream products that I’ve tried so far. Before I begin with telling you the pros and cons of the different eye cream, let us take a step back.
First of all people will always ask why we need to use eye cream and why moisturizer alone is not enough for the eyes area. Especially when most eye creams are sold for double the price and half the size of normal moisturizer. How do we even begin to justify the spending?
Unlike the rest of our face area, the skin around the eye area is very thin and delicate therefore they’re prone to damage. The eye area is the first place you would likely to see any changes within your face. When you’re tired you will see the dark circle first before any other symptoms of stress on your face. Most face moisturizers are not recommended to be used around the eyes area. The reason is because of ingredients within the face moisturizers may be too harsh and strong for the delicate eye area.
Needless to say that it is highly important to protect, maintain and repair the condition of our eye area. By doing so, with the help of good eye cream, we’re helping our eye area to reduce the appearance of fine lines, nasty crow feet and dark circles. These conditions can sometimes be a hereditary factor, but we should never give up and try our best to at least lessen their appearance.
When choosing an eye cream we should understand first what our eye area needs because we want to be as result oriented as possible. During the day we may want to have eye cream that absorb fast, helps to minimize our puffy eyes and helps to protect the eyes area from the UV exposure. Although the later sometimes is not needed because people tend to use separate product for their sunscreen but make sure first that it is safe for the eyes area. Ingredients such as caffeine and cucumber have been known as great depuffing agents so you might want to look out for those.
Whereas during the night, where the skin cells works more effectively while you’re sleeping you would want something that helps to repair and rejuvenate the condition of the skin. Ingredients such as AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy Acids) has been known as antioxidants that are highly beneficial for the skin because they helps remove dead cells from the skin allowing the formation of new cells.
So next time you walk to a beauty counter to purchase an eye cream, think about of what you want first before you head to the counter. Or better yet, read the reviews that I’m going to post soon first and hopefully you’ll get a better idea of what suits your needs the most.
