One day after the grand opening of its Blackberry Branded Outlet at FX Plaza, Indosat threw a hip launch party at Dragonfly last night to introduce its newest Blackberry line up in Curve 8900 (Javelin) and Pearl 8220 (Kickstart). So RIM’s first flip-on phone (Kickstart) is finally making its way to the market, thanks to Indosat. It claims to be the nation’s first mobile operator offering such a line up. Guests were pampered with free flow of drinks, refreshments and full course meal. I happened to come in early and found a comfortable spot to relax. It was quite an indulging atmosphere to kick back with a soothing smooth jazz music escaping from the hectic streets of Jakarta during rush hour.
An hour later, invitees started to rush in just in time for the event. There was a runway action, (well…. sort of, if you don’t mind calling a bar table a runway), live performer from Shanty among others. Familiar names and faces like Dian Sastrowardoyo, Maya Estianty, Hedi Yunus, Darwis Triadi, Shinta Dhanuwardoyo (Bubu) were called on stage as Indosat Blackberry Icons and received the new gadget. Not bad of an icon line up after all. They also had a few Curves and Pearsl on hand to giveaway there last night as well.
