Everytime my friends – who know I’ve quit my 9 to 5 job recently – asked me what I was doing, my response is almost always “I am busy.” They usually don’t believe me because they thought that if I don’t go to work anymore, surely I don’t have that much to do anymore right?
Wrong.
Yes I quit my glamorous 9 to 5 job. But I still work and I have plenty to do. Apart from writing as a contributor for several magazines, I am also busy working on our much loved Fashionese Daily. It seems like ages ago when Hanzky and I talked about this day, where we both could work from home, doing what we love while still having enough time for our children. It happened faster than I imagined. Fast forward 2 years later and now I am doing it!
It’s not surprising actually why I end up busier than ever because we don’t have personal assistants doing the small, tedious tasks. Plus there are “bigger” things that I have to take care of as well like setting up business plans with Hanzky, creating proposals, planning projects, managing the blog and forum and so many others that I can’t list down one by one. And I haven’t even added taking care of my cheeky 1 year old into the equation 🙂
The work never stops yet I am loving every minute of it.
So yes, everytime someone asks me how I’m doing after I stop going to office jobs, my answer will still be the same.
I am busy. But I am also happy.
